National Geographic Documentary - Grand Canyon the Hidden Secrets Location Bees are performed in your area school by school, but there are also territorial, state, and national competitive events. The National Geographic Bee, previously the National Location Bee, is open to fourth through eighth class American students. The twelve-monthly Bee is hosted by Alex Trebek and has students from all 40 states, Puerto Rico, ALL OF US Virgin Islands and Ocean territories, as well as Department of Defense Household Schools.
To get to the national bee is no easy feet. College level competitions get started in November. There are restrictions on the number of competitors, though there is a minimum of six participants required to web host an event. The Bee commences with preliminaries, where competition are split into categories of twenty. Each is asked one question from six categories. Each question is worth 1 point, and the top scorers move forward to the second circular.
The second part of competition has two parts - a final and championship round. The twelve finalists are cleared of previous points, and are eliminated after two completely wrong answers. As soon as the third place winner is determined, the two semi-finalists go face to face. Third place eliminations avoid happen until all students have voiced an answer, because if all players are incorrect no person is eradicated.
The championship round is played between the two semi-finalists. Prior to question is asked, points are eliminated once more. The same questions are given to the two participants together and are repeated 2 times. Participants have a minute to write down their answers. Three questions are asked, and the competitor with most points at the end of the circle is declared the victor.
To qualify for point out competition, all school-level champions take a written test. The most notable 100 qualify for the state bee, which follows the same guidelines as the local bees. National competition are the winning trades from state and place bees. Other than an increase in preliminary questions from 7 to dokuz, rules are identical. Excellent are held in later May.
